Yesterday I shared the overview of my Pitch & Post challenge.
In the spirit of transparency, I have to tell you that I’m still working on a few details. Minor ones. But details nonetheless.
Some of my best opportunities have been the result of a challenge or income sprint of some sort. I’ve been in an untethering season since my mom died last year. I was in one before that but her death forced me to reconcile some things.
And honestly have found solace in hiding behind my grief and burnout.
So I haven’t done one of these sprints in a while. The last one I did, I landed 4 new clients in just 5 days. With posting and pitching as the method.
The spark for this one came to me during a recent run. As most of my ideas.
But I had to define the who, the ask, and the lowest hanging fruit to build momentum quickly. Today I want to share a bit of what that looks like.
LFG 🔥
I have to pat myself on the back today because in under 3 hours, I was able to:
Rough edit my YouTube video that posts later today
Record a new YouTube video for next week
Record a sales video
Clip, post/schedule short videos to my pages
Write copy for 2 posts
Refine the pitch
Write this email
Locate and remove A LIZARD from my office (I was fighting for my life)
And bake a whole chicken LOL
These are the days I feel like Supermom.
Let me get to what you’re here for:
The Who
I’m obsessed with solopreneurs the most. Especially over 35 or parents. I like to stand in the gap that’s often overlooked for them with reaching their life and business goals in a way that honors where they are in life.
They’re often in professional services or high-commission consulting and within 2-3 years of escaping corporate.
So the content always speaks to their struggles.
BUT the pitch is for those who support them. They are the buyers. So being clear on what that messaging needs to look like to appeal to them is different than my content that I spend most of my time posting.
They care about different things. Like NPS scores, engagement, measurable outcomes, etc.
The Ask
I gotta tell you that I’ve struggled between which of my workshops to offer. I brainstormed a bit with ChatGPT.
And committed to making a decision after my run this AM. I landed at something completely new and fresh.
It’s a concept that I’ve created and put into action this past year and has helped me test whether something truly deserves my time or if I’m just afraid to let it go.
And helped me to determine of the personal or professional things that I do, what is actually producing a return that I’m willing to allow the pressure for (emotional, financial, or energetically).
Low-Hanging Fruit
I want to validate and create momentum for this challenge ASAP. That means going after the lowest hanging fruit.
As I’ve already mentioned, that’s not targeting the solopreneurs themselves. I’ll be pitching:
Coworking spaces
Women’s business networks + local chambers
SBDCs and city/state small-business programs
Niche freelancer/consultant associations
Supporting tech/service orgs
Online member communities with monthly workshops
Pitching Without a Website
Yep. No website. I’ve made thousands without a website. It boils my blood the number of people who think they need one before they start pitching.
But this is where content comes in. You have to still ensure there are assets in place for your reader to learn more.
For me, I use LinkedIn as a sales page, a simple Google doc, and a sales video to work for me. That’s in the pitch. I also use content to help but that’s a task for tomorrow’s Nesha.
This is a rinse and repeat of what I did to land 4 new clients in 5 days (I made this PDF case study for you breaking down exactly what I did, if you’re curious).
I’m starting the pitching on Monday because I needed to get a few assets in place and details finalized.
I always create and make an offer on something that’s 70-80% ready. Why? Because it leaves room for feedback and pivoting where needed.
AUDACITY>OVERTHINKING OR PERFECTION
Tomorrow I’ll share the the links to video and Google doc for your reference.
That’s all that I have today. Let me know if you have any input or questions.
See you tomorrow,
Nesh
